About Vantage Plan

Built by Osman Medina Suarez — a senior estimator in Orange, regional New South Wales, Australia. Venezuelan-born, in Australia over a decade. Nights and weekends.

Built by someone who actually manages complex operational work every day.

How this started

The turning point came after years of juggling estimations, project schedules, notes, costing spreadsheets, calendars, and AI tools across too many disconnected systems. I realised I was spending more time managing tools than managing actual work.

One week in particular, I had estimating deadlines on a fit-out tender, content production for Costing Masters running in parallel, daily project coordination calls, and automation workflows half-built across two platforms — all at the same time. I was switching between task apps, spreadsheets, notes, calendars, cloud drives, and AI chats. The work was on top of me; the tools were underneath, and every transition between them dropped context.

That was the week I realised I didn't need another lightweight productivity app. I needed one serious workspace that could actually handle real operational work — without subscriptions, fragmentation, or pretend depth.

Vantage Plan started as the system I wished existed for myself.

What I actually do

My day job is pricing construction, fit-out, manufacturing, and property development projects using advanced costing systems — bills of quantities, first-principles estimation, procurement planning, and the operational workflows that connect a tender on Monday to a delivered build six months later.

Real money, real timelines, real consequences for getting the schedule wrong.

That's the kind of work Vantage Plan is built for. Not single-page task lists. Not pretty Kanban boards for stand-ups. Projects where dependencies actually matter, where cost variance shows up on someone's quarterly report, where the Journal entry from week three is the document that saves you in week eleven.

The Ownership Pledge

Between project management tools, note apps, cloud subscriptions, AI tools, and productivity platforms, I'd been paying hundreds of dollars a year — pushing toward a thousand — across systems I never fully used together. Each renewal arrived. Each one was set on auto-pay. Each cancellation cost an evening I'd rather have spent building something.

I wanted out of the renewal cycle.

Pay once. Own forever. Skip next year's V2 upgrade and keep V1 running on your Mac for as long as your hardware will run it. No recurring bill. No "your trial has expired." No "your plan has been deprecated." If V2 launches and the price isn't worth it to you, you don't owe me anything — V1 stays yours.

The exact scope of "forever" is defined in our Terms of Service — V1 series, supported macOS / iOS versions, what carries over as the platforms evolve.

Why "Vantage Plan"

The name came from the idea of gaining a better vantage point over complex work.

In estimation and project planning, clarity changes everything. When you can properly see timelines, costs, priorities, risks, and execution together — in one place, on one screen — decisions become faster and more confident.

Vantage Plan is about stepping back from fragmented tools and regaining visibility, structure, and control.

Personal

I'm Venezuelan-born and have been living in Australia for over a decade. English is my second language, and a big part of this journey has been learning to build publicly, communicate more confidently, and build systems that give my family more freedom and stability.

My wife Ligia has seen every version of Vantage Plan evolve from rough ideas into real workflows. The parts that survived past the first draft owe a lot to her patience.

I run my own work in it

I use Vantage Plan daily — to manage estimation workflows, content production for my other educational projects and brand, automation planning, project roadmaps, and the entire Vantage Plan launch itself.

The 100-day launch plan lives inside Vantage Plan as tasks, dependencies, milestones, and journal entries. Every meeting I take about this product gets a note in the project's Journal. Every ad-spend on this site gets logged in the Cost tab. The dogfooding is the proof.

The product is built from real operational pressure — not hypothetical productivity theory.

Building in public

Vantage Plan has been in development for a year. The build-in-public posts live on the blog — what shipped, what changed, what I learned, what I'd do differently. The release plan is the Mac App Store, with the iOS / iPadOS mobile companion launching alongside.

The first 100 buyers of Basic get a Founder's deal at $129 instead of $179. The first 100 buyers of Pro get $229 instead of $279. iPhone and iPad are included with every tier. Both caps close independently when hit. Once they're gone, that's it — no second batch, no anniversary reopen.

How to reach me

The whole product is built solo, in a small town in regional Australia, by one person who'd rather own his tools than rent them — and who suspects there are at least a few thousand other operators out there who feel the same way.
